What is Missinglettr?
Missinglettr is an easy and fast way to promote website content that you are posting to your website. It helps you to create social media campaigns, schedule social media posts and drip your content out to your social media network. The intent of a social media campaign is to drive your social media traffic back to your website - and it works!
Missinglettr was introduced and mentioned to us in a few previous OwnWP webinars. This webinar is intended to explain and further demonstrate the tool's use. It is best to view this webinar after you have completed preparing for your first campaign as described in our Find Out What Missinglettr is Really Like post.
In this webinar, you can see first hand what the Missinglettr process looks like. We'll do a quick walkthrough of the dashboard and then go through the entire process of reviewing and scheduling a year's worth of promotion for one of our OwnWP webinars and it's associated post.

A Quick Missinglettr Dashboard Review
You can see a list of websites that you have added to your Missinglettr tool when you look in the top left side of your dashboard and click on the drop-down arrow.
To add an additional site to Missinglettr after you have added your first website, click on the drop-down area where your sites are listed and click Add New Site.
The same process you used to add your first site is followed for add-on sites.
Campaigns to Review
A campaign review is a Missinglettr process used to edit and approve the content of each campaign that will be posted the social profiles that you have connected to your Missinglettr tool for each website.
The majority of this webinar is going to take you through the process of reviewing a campaign and putting together the campaign options that Missinglettr offers.
There are three steps to reviewing each campaign.
Choosing Hashtags for Your Social Media Posts
The position of the hashtag in your list determines it’s priority. The top of the list has a higher priority than lower on the list.
A hashtag with a higher priority will show up more often in your social media posts.
Managing Content for Your Campaign
Content that is available using the Missiglettr tool consists of
- content from an existing blog post
- images larger than 150 x 150px extracted from your blog post
- quote bubbles (created with your content templates)
- days that your campaign is scheduled to post
- the social media profiles associated with your website that are connected
Missinglettr can send link cards, text only with links that resolve to link card, text only without links that will publish as plain text or an image with a description.
One of the newer features of Missinglettr includes the ability to adjust your content before going throughout the review process. This can reduce the amount of content to scroll through during the review process and speed up the amount of time spent on your review process.
You can add quotes that are available simply by selecting them, add your own quotes using the add custom entry button, and remove quotes using the remove button.
One thing to keep in mind as you go through your review process is that Facebook does not work like the other social networks and, as usual, makes its own rules. So any content that you want to post to Facebook must be copied and pasted manually in order to meet the Facebook posting requirements.
Approving the Campaign
The final approval part of the process is very simple. Choose a start date for your campaign to begin and a stop date (should you need one) for the campaign to end.
Missinglettr also has options for team members or other small agency personnel to be notified should you want your campaigns reviewed for quality assurance or proofing.
The only remaining step is to Activate the campaign.
Be patient, It can take up to an hour before your newly active campaign shows up in your dashboard as active. You can also expect an email letting you know when the images from your campaign are available for download – another newer feature of the tool.
If you do want to download your campaign images for use across the internet, just be sure to download them while the campaign is active. Once a campaign has completed, the images are no longer available.
From your dashboard and at a glance you can see how many campaigns you have running. Running campaigns are campaigns that have been activated and passed their start date but have not yet reached their end date.
Running campaigns can also be paused and edited as needed.
When you pause a campaign, you must go through the review process again to reactivate it. The process is much quicker though because it does recall the content and settings you had prior to pausing it.
Time Until Next Post
Another piece of data available at a glance from the dashboard is the time until your next scheduled post is set to trigger. This can vary based on the duration of your campaigns and length of time between your posts. Your next post is not when your next campaign begins but rather the time until the very next post from all of your running and/or scheduled campaigns will occur.
Branding is available for the quote bubbles of Missinglettr and consists of active templates, your template library, the premium templates, and your branding settings.
Paid Missinglettr users can edit templates. You can click on the icons below the quote bubble to view different setting options.

My Template Libray
Paid members can also create their own custom templates for use in their campaigns. OwnWP uses this area to organize different color templates based on site branding. Doing this prevents all of the templates showing up in every campaign review and ultimately saves us time with our review process.
The premium templates are also for paid members and are a predefined template that you may choose to use as is or customize to brand with your colors and font.
You can choose your Brand name, an author name, and a profile image. We use OwnWP for both our brand and author name and then further customize each of our templates using the little pencil/edit icon depending on the style of our quote bubbles. This area is also available and accessible through other of the templates.
Missinglettr supports Facebook Pages, Twitter, LinkedIn profiles, LinkedIn Pages, and Google Plus Profiles and Pages (at least until Google has completely terminated Google+).
