Expect SEO Strategy Changes for 2019

A lot of businesses are taking advantage of SEO strategies to boost the traffic on their websites, blogs, and social media pages. So if you’re not taking part in this, you may be missing out on a lot of leads for your company.

Over time, SEO strategies have evolved. What worked in 2016 may not be that effective in 2019. The trends keep changing, and so should your site.

As 2018 came to a close, new and better SEO trends were revealed. Check out the infographic and then continue reading for the top 3 trends that may work for you moving forward.

Top SEO Trends for 2019

Top 3 SEO Trends for 2019

    1. Conversational Voice Search Replacing Keywords – Everything about how content was traditionally created changes with voice search. Valuable content will no longer be created around specific keywords. This will instead be replaced by content that is created in a conversational tone.
    2. Increased Security With Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) – SSLs started being taken seriously when Google announced the role they play when it comes to ranking in search engines. According to Google, a website with secured website certificates ranks higher. This is in line with attempts to make the internet a more secure resource center. Since July 2018 users using Google's Chrome browser are alerted – a “not secure” notification is triggered – when visiting websites that don’t have HTTPS in their address or visiting HTTP pages.
    3. Video Content Experiencing Rapid Growth – Video content has been gaining traction over the last half-decade or so. In a study by Cisco, by 2021, content delivered in form of video will contribute to 82% of all content consumed on the internet. The data shows that in three years, video content will be the most consumed form of content around the world. This means that businesses have to strategically position themselves using video content on platforms such as YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, others. Being the second largest search engine, it would be insane for any business to neglect YouTube today, let alone in the future.

You're Not The Only One Concerned About Implementing SEO Strategies

Achieving high content ranking is not easy in a world where the internet receives millions of content uploads each minute.

Personalization should no longer work against you. Now that you understand the trends, use them to your advantage. Implement what you can, as you can and as much as possible.

You don't have to abandon older techniques all together. SEO goals have not changed – to have your content appear among the first five results of the search results.

As more and more readers click to and spend time on your website, it becomes more relevant. Ideally, by providing content that becomes the preferred source of information for that niche, you will ultimately raise your rankings.
